About This Website

I just started this website in march 2009. When I came to Jakarta and started my medical studies in the September 2006, I felt that information was too random, things were unpredictable and going from the extremely structured life in Malaysia things seemed chaotic.
I decided to make a website to:
1) help myself to study and understand better about my medical studies.
2) to learn and exchange information with people from around the world about various field of medicine.
3) give students overview the curriculum and life as a medical student in Jakarta.

About Me

My name is Mohd Syahmi Bin Ahmad Nadzer, and yes I am a muslim and u can guess  that by my name before. I grew up in a town called Subang Jaya, located about 20km from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Was great living at my hometown, it was a small town 10 years ago but now the town is growing pretty quickly with the development of few apartments and malls. I had my primary school there before I stayed in a boarding school in Kajang, which is 30km from my hometown. I studied for 5 years at SMKA Maahad Hamidiah, a well-known Islamic secondary school in Kajang. Then I further my studies in Matricultion at the Center of Foundation Studies in Science located at the University of Malaya, one of the best and oldest university in Malaysia.

After graduating from Matriculation, the Government of Malaysia gave me the opportunity to a 6 years course of medical study at the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Trisakti located at the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. I arrived in August 2006 and had been here for about 2 years and 6 months now. I had quite a hard time during the first 2 years here as I have to learn the Indonesia language because the language used in lectures is Indonesian languages which my studies previously was in English. I have to hear and caught what the local people spoke and try to utter it as good as possible in in their ways. It was quite different from Malaysian language.I still have a long way to go and much to learn. But with my friends helping around, it would help me a lot to pass obstacles from years to come.
